Can the spirit and culture of popular education = education of the people be used to help strengthen our community?
We think so. We’re looking at various ways to spark meaningful community development.
Specifically, the Toronto Community Development Institute (TCDI) is looking at building a forum for ‘community development learning’ to transfer knowledge for use by other groups, or to support the next generation of leaders around strategy and tactics to achieve social change.
IMAGINE a place to learn, share ideas and connect with like-minded individuals. Whether through LOCALIZED needs matching or taking the pulse of policy and implementation at any level, we want to help inspire and connect people and communities on all levels to become active and engaged.
By building a collective through convening and sharing we have woven some intentional pieces into our events to connect the dots and animate a broad group of volunteers who are ready to shape the Toronto Community Development Institute as it moves forward.
Stay tuned as we continue to refine our VISION, look to many exciting partnering opportunities, and build our roadmap to re-launching our online presence. We plan to be open and transparent through this process and look forward to CONTINUING TO CONNECT PEOPLE with the resources they need to build stronger communities.
We look forward to the increased participation of the whole spectrum of community work activists – community organizers, neighbourhood builders, environmental advocates, neighbourhood capacity builders, social justice activists, equity-seeking group organizers, union activists, cooperative builders, social entrepreneurs, and more. We welcome your participation now, and in creating the future we want.

Wow, Arusha is a long way away. Community Development has done a lot for me understanding how to become a change maker and I continue to learn and grow. I am wondering what we can do to support your learning and community organizing. Do you have any specific questions or areas of interest?
